It’s been over a year since I made my first photofilm. With this project I wanted to raise awareness and change the way people frequently view the street workers not only in my town, but across the country.
I noticed a portion of the general public had appalling views on the lives of these vulnerable women. They need help and strength to exit the sex trade, not to be judged, blasphemed and looked down upon as scum.
Life is unpredictable, and can thrown us down any path without a way to get back. The last line of the poem in the photofilm resonates with me the most, simply;
‘It could so easily be you.’
