La India. Sevilla.

On a recent trip to Seville, the capital city of Andalusia, I had the opportunity to invade the practice spaces of Flamenco enthusiasts, dancers and teachers when they are not in ‘performance mode.’ I wanted to catch them off guard and reveal a more personal side to this traditional art form, currently fuelled by tourists. I wanted to take a look at the individuals who consider Flamenco as their passion and more of a way of life than anything. I came across sets of studios along Calle Castelar, an important street in regards to flamenco in Seville and stepped into the space of La India a teacher/dancer born in Argentina. I photographed her downtime in between her lessons where she trains.
