Developed Film From The Rollei 35.

I’ve finally got the prints from my film camera, I’ve recently been trying out the Rollei 35. I’m finding using a manual camera is making me think more carefully about each photograph I take. With digital it’s too easy to snap away and take 15 photos of the same thing and rely on editing afterwards. With film, every image costs to produce, so It makes you study your subject more carefully for the best angle and the lighting.

The Rollei 35 is a pretty little compact 35ml camera, so easy to fit in your bag and take on your travels, and it has a built in light meter. The only downside is it’s not that easy to use, and when you look through the viewfinder you can’t see the actual image (ie- it’s not an SLR) so it takes a bit of guessing, my images are more cropped than I would have liked, but it’s something to get used to, using a fixed lens.

Photos taken in Madrid and Barcelona.
