Working With A Light Meter.

Working in a studio and with a light meter is something I’ve never done before. At first I found using the meter really confusing and tricky, and the letters ISO and readings boggled my mind. Once I got the hang of it, I found the different ways of creating an image by using the right settings for the camera to pick up the light.

Firstly I experimented by taking a light reading behind the model’s head to create a silhouette.

I then changed the position of the light meter to make the light surround the person in the frame. I really like the bright white background, but didn’t like how the colours were spoiled creating an orange/yellow glow on the face and hair.
